Develops and maintains the necessary sectional procedures and forms I
order to ensure efficient handling of routine activities according to UCB
standards.
Developing departmental policies for protective clothing and consumables;
Ensuring adequate human resources to carry out set operations at required
efficiencies without incurring unnecessary overtime;
Implementation of an adequate well trained human resources base;
Plans annual leave to avoid leave at peak when maximum productivity is
required;
Prepares terms of reference, mainly Job Descriptions, KPI’s and
checklists;
Includes within the objectives of the department the costs, benefits,
standards of performance and methods of measurement;
Engenders the correct attitudes in all employees of the department by
proper utilization of management technic;
Provide each individual subordinate with honest feedback of his/her
performance;
Assess how subordinates are achieving and evaluate actual achievements so
as to provide an early warning system as to whether objectives of the
department are being met;
Ensures that departmental reports are prepared and submitted in the form
and at the time;
Responsible for immediate verbal reporting to relevant Supervisor /
Manager on anything that is out of control. Must have a properly planned
schedule of meetings to ensure contact with key person.
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Studies, Logistics or Supply
chain / diploma in Stores Management or Packaging;
3 years in a Logistics management function. He incumbent should possess
good knowledge of stock control, distribution management and asset care;
High level of leadership skills is required as well as the ability to
provide growth and motivation to staff;
Should have good interpersonal and communication skills in order to
interact effectively with all levels of personnel. He/she should possess
an enquiring analytical and innovative mind;
Keeps abreast of trends and new developments in Warehouse management and
allied disciplines;
Develop and maintain internal control systems to ensure zero stock losses;
Following up on variances and ensuring accountability and where necessary
recommend appropriate action to be taken.
