The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) is pleased to launch its Emerging Talents Capacity Building Programme (SET-CAB), an initiative designed to support young professionals from OIC Member Countries. The programme aims to contribute to the professional growth of individuals by offering a comprehensive learning environment.
SET-CAB provides motivated young individuals with an opportunity to delve into the economic and social issues that affect the Islamic World, while gaining practical experience in an international setting. Participants will have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals from various fields and enhance their skills and knowledge in their areas of interest. This comprehensive approach not only equips participants for their future careers, but also fosters a sense of global responsibility and commitment to the progress and development of the Islamic World.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Participants will enhance their capacity by learning and contributing to a variety of tasks based on their expertise, such as:Participating in the collection, collation, processing, and analysis of statistical dataAssisting in the maintenance of departmental files and databases/rostersConducting analytical research, data visualization, and report writing on various socio-economic issuesDesigning and implementing training and capacity-building projects and activitiesPreparing partnership agreements, concept papers, Terms of Reference (ToR) documentsConducting projects and assignmentsCorresponding with internal/external stakeholdersSupporting the development of social media content, designing visuals, and drafting presentationsTranslating technical documentsSupporting the IT and Publication work, as well as the SESRIC libraryEstablishing and maintaining effective communication channelsEligibility and Application Requirements
SET-CAB is open to students who are nationals of OIC Member Countries. Candidates must be enrolled in a full-time study programme pursuing a degree (BA/BSc, MA/MSc, or DPhil/PhD).
We are particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in the following fields: statistics, economics, business administration, finance, international relations, political science and public administration, social sciences, or other related fields.
A working proficiency in English is essential, and fluency in one of the other two official languages of the OIC (Arabic and French) is highly desirable. We also welcome candidates with expertise in translation, web development, data analysis, software development, graphic design, and library management.

Please note that participants are responsible for their own visa and living arrangements. The training programme is available exclusively at SESRIC Headquarters in Ankara, Türkiye, for a minimum duration of four weeks. Successful participants will receive a certificate after completing their training.
