Job Description:
We are searching for a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our technology start-up company. As the Accountant, you will be responsible for managing various financial aspects, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, assets management, working capital and cash flow management, budgeting planning and control, and tax declaration. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
Process and review vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals for payment. Maintain an organized system to record, document, and track payables. Reconcile accounts payable and resolve any discrepancies. Communicate effectively with vendors to manage payment schedules and resolve any issues.
Accounts Receivable:
Manage customer billing and invoicing process, ensuring timeliness and accuracy. Monitor and track accounts receivable balances and follow-up on overdue payments. Work closely with customers to resolve any payment discrepancies or disputes. Update and maintain accurate records of customer transactions. Provide regular reports on accounts receivable status and cash flow projections.
Assets Management:
Record and maintain accurate records of company assets, including equipment, software licenses, and inventory.Conduct regular audits to ensure asset accuracy and compliance.Monitor asset depreciation and update asset schedules accordingly. Assist with asset purchases, disposals, and related documentation.
Working Capital and Cash Flow Management:
Manage cash flow by monitoring daily receipts and disbursements. Forecast and project cash flow requirements to ensure sufficient liquidity. Implement strategies to optimize working capital, including inventory management and credit terms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline payment processes, reduce payment delays, and improve cash flow efficiency.
Budgeting Planning and Control:
Collaborate with company leadership to develop and manage annual budgets. Monitor budget performance and provide regular variance analysis reports. Assist in financial forecasting and strategic planning initiatives. Identify areas for cost optimization and recommend appropriate actions.
Tax Declaration:
Prepare and file tax returns accurately and in compliance with relevant tax regulations. Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely completion of tax filings. Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to provide tax planning advice. Assist in responding to tax audits and resolving any tax-related issues.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven work experience as an Accountant, preferably in a technology start-up or similar environment. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial management. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Keen attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with tax regulations and experience with tax declaration is preferred.
