The Nurses’ union acknowledged in an announcement Saturday that the strike used to be being called off following a deal with Nigeria’s government.
Nurses in public hospitals had gone on a ‘warning strike’ on July 30, demanding elevated pay, better working situation and elevated staffing.
In an announcement, the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives acknowledged that the government had spoke back to their demands and offered “clear timelines” for honoring them.
Previous to the settlement, the nurses had threatened to resort to an indefinte strike.
The strike used to be suspended following a assembly with officials from the ministries of health and labour.
