The Gambia Earnings Authority (GRA), in collaboration with the World Customs Group (WCO), officially opened the Coordinated Border Management (CBM) Workshop this day on the Senegambia Seaside Lodge.
The gap ceremony used to be presided over by the Commissioner Long-established of GRA, Mr. Yankuba Darboe. Also repeat were Mr. Essa Jallow, Deputy Commissioner Long-established and Head of the Domestic Taxes Division, and Mr. Alhagie K. Mbye, Commissioner of Customs & Excise.
In his remarks, Mr. Darboe welcomed WCO trade facilitation experts for the workshop Jim Clark, Alternate Facilitation Specialist at WCO; Besa Chama, CBM Professional from the Zambia Earnings Authority; and Sifiso Shabangu, CBM Professional from the Eswatini Earnings Provider.
He also acknowledged the participation of a form of nationwide companies, at the side of the Gambia Police Power, Gambia Immigration Division, Drug Regulation Enforcement Agency, Gambia Standards Bureau, Ministry of Alternate, Ministry of Agriculture, and the Food Safety and Quality Authority.
Mr. Darboe emphasized that GRA, with the give a take to of the WCO Flee Alternate Facilitation Programme, has made fundamental strides in advancing Coordinated Border Management. He launched the event of a draft Inter-Agency Frequent Operations Framework–a fundamental milestone aimed at harmonizing border procedures, standardizing knowledge trade, and promoting integrated bother administration, all of which are very fundamental for reaching more efficient and transparent border operations.
Mr. Jim Clark also delivered brief remarks, commending ongoing efforts and reaffirming WCO’s commitment to supporting border security and security via coordinated reforms in border administration.
This workshop marks a significant step against enhancing border effectivity via stronger collaboration and coordinated reform efforts.
