Preview: Golden State Warriors vs. Milwaukee Bucks

Golden State Warriors will be looking to secure a third consecutive victory against Eastern Conference powerhouse Milwaukee Bucks when the two sides go head to head on Tuesday night.

The Bucks, who have endured a topsy-turvy run of results of late, journey to the Chase Center, where they have lost their last four visits since January 2020 and will be looking to end this five-year spell.

In the second of their two meetings within an 11-day period, high-flying Golden State Warriors secured a 97-94 victory over the New York Knicks on Saturday night to secure consecutive wins in this fixture for the first time since December 2021.

Having led the Warriors to a 114-102 win at Madison Square Garden on January 5, Stephen Curry was at it again as he dropped 28 points to lead the Warriors while Jonathan Kuminga tallied 10 points, five rebounds and five assists in 20 minutes on his second game since returning from the sidelines.

The Golden State Warriors have now won each of their most recent seven matches — their longest winning streak since April 2022 — and are 14-2 in their last 16 matches since losing back-to-back games against the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Lakers in February.

This blistering run of results has put Steve Kerr‘s men in contention for playoff basketball as they have surged into sixth place in the Western Conference standings with a 39-28 record, two wins off the Lakers in fifth place.

While the Warriors will look to make it three wins on the trot against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, they will first be in action on Monday as they face the stern challenge of a Denver Nuggets side, who have won each of the last nine meetings between the two teams since a 102-98 loss in the 2022 playoffs.

Over in the East, the Milwaukee Bucks were outmatched by Western Conference leaders Oklahoma City Thunder as they fell 121-105 when the two sides squared off at the Fiserv Forum Arena on Sunday night.

Giannis Antetokounmpo knocked down 21 points to go with 12 rebounds and 10 assists of the season but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropped 31 points to lead OKC, who shot 51% from the field as a team, to record their 56th win of the campaign.

Prior to that, the Bucks snapped their run of three back-to-back defeats on March 14, when they saw off the Lakers 126-109 to end their three-match losing streak between the two teams, two days before picking up a 126-119 win over the Indiana Pacers.

Doc Rivers‘s men now hold a 38-29 record from their 67 regular-season games to sit fourth in the Eastern Conference standings, just one win above fifth-placed Indiana Pacers, who have one game in hand.

While the Milwaukee Bucks will be looking to return to winning ways, they will need to show their mettle on Tuesday as they have lost each of their last four visits to the Chase Center, stretching back to a 107-98 win in January 2020.

Brandin Podziemski has missed each of the last four games since picking up a back injury against the Brooklyn Nets on March 3 and the 22-year-old guard is considered day-to-day.

Quinten Post is reported as questionable for Monday’s tie against the Denver Nuggets due to right ankle soreness and the Dutch center will be assessed ahead of the game against Milwaukee.

Kuminga made his highly-anticipated return from injury against the Sacramento Kings on March 14 and the 22-year-old, who has dropped 23 points in an average of 20 minutes across the two games since his return should feature on Wednesday with minutes restriction.

As for the Milwaukee Bucks, they currently boast a fully healthy squad, and barring any late fitness issues and injury concerns, Rivers will have a full house to pick from at the Chase Center.

Antetokounmpo recorded his seventh triple-double of the season with his display against the Oklahoma City Thunder last time out and the ‘Greek Freak’, who missed February’s game against the Warriors will look to make his mark on Tuesday.

Golden State Warriors are on a run and at the moment they will fancy themselves against any side in the league on home court, where they have won their last seven games and are 9-1 since January 29.

Milwaukee Bucks have struggled to put together a run of form, and while we expect them to put up a fight at the Chase Center, we are backing the Warriors to come out on top.
