Supporters of the Union for Democratic Change (UDC) gathered outdoors polling stations in varied parts of the country to celebrate their event’s victory.
The win delivered the most attention-grabbing upset within the southern African country’s election history, uprooting the Botswana Democratic Win together (BDP) after 58 years guilty.
On Friday, President Mokgweetsi Masisi conceded defeat even sooner than the announcement of official outcomes.
Having attained 31 seats, the minimal obligatory for a parliamentary majority, UDC will create the subsequent authorities with Duma Boko, its leader as president of the republic.
Native media reported that Duma Boko’s swearing-in became scheduled for Friday evening.
