Kitarō Tanjō: Gegege no Nazo Shinsei-ban Drops to #5, Ideal Precure! Film Stays at #8

Kitarō Tanjō: Gegege no Nazo Shinsei-ban (Appropriate Birth Model), the recut version of the Kitarō Tanjō: Gegege no Nazo (The Birth of Kitaro: The Thriller of GeGeGe) anime film, dropped from #3 to #5 in its 2nd weekend. The film earned 71,939,840 yen (about US$482,400) from Friday to Sunday, and has earned a cumulative total of 272,393,960 yen (about US$1.82 million). In addition, both versions of the film have collectively earned a cumulative total of greater than 3 billion yen (about US$20.10 million).

The film earned 42,029,650 yen (about US$281,500) from Friday to Sunday, and has earned a cumulative total of 1,095,162,740 yen (about US$7.33 million).

The film opened in Japan on September 13. The film ranked at #2 in its opening weekend. The film equipped 295,000 tickets and earned 367 million yen (about US$2.59 million) in its first three days, marking the 2nd-absolute best three-day opening weekend for the Precure franchise, comely under final year’s Precure All Stars F film. Ideal Precure! The Film! Fureru., the modern normal anime film from the Tremendous Peace Busters creative crew, dropped from #5 to #10 in its 2nd weekend. The film earned 35,004,900 yen (about US$234,500) from Friday to Sunday, and has earned a cumulative total of 173,915,700 yen (about US$1.16 million).

The film ranked at #5 in its opening weekend. The film equipped 69,000 tickets and earned 102,554,300 yen (about US$692,200) in its first three days.

The story follows three childhood chums who’re connected by a mysterious creature. The film shows the three as younger adults in Tokyo. The film is decided in Takadanobaba, a special location from the Tremendous Peace Busters trio’s old three works (Chichibu is Mari Okada‘s hometown).

The film features nine cast participants from the crew’s old three anime works together with anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, The Anthem of the Coronary heart, and Her Blue Sky.

Eiga Given: Umi e (Given The Film: To the Sea), the 2nd film within the two-portion sequel anime film mission, stayed at #1 within the mini-theater rankings in its fourth weekend. The film opened on September 20.
