JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Shwari Health Cameroon is a locally registered organization with a vision to ensure the provision of quality, effective and innovative evidence-based solutions to address health systems challenges within the health sector in Cameroon and beyond with a special focus on children and adolescents. To achieve this, Shwari Health Cameroon uses proven community strategies to identify HIV-infected children and adolescents, refer them to health facilities for initiation on treatment, and support and accompany them through treatment to ensure they remain in care and achieve viral suppression. Our mission is to be one of the most sought-after implementation science associations in Cameroon that uses evidence-based strategies to effectively cover the ‘Know-Do’ gaps in the provision of health services. We aim to achieve this through the application of modern evidence generation and synthesis methods to understand operational contexts to devise strategies that could make the implementation efforts more effective and efficient. SHWARI Health Association, in partnership with Georgetown University’s Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI), the Government of the Republic of Cameroon’s Regional Technical Groups (RTGs), will be implementing a project titled SAFECARE-Cameroon, which is a 5-year CDC/PEPFAR-Funded project. SAFECARE-Cameroon’s goal is to develop, implement, and sustain comprehensive facility and community-based HIV services for children, adolescents, and adults in Cameroon in PEPFAR-supported regions of the country and support the country to fast-track its progress to achieve HIV epidemic control. As a result, SHWARI Health Association Cameroon (SHAC) is recruiting for the following program implementation positions. All prospective candidates must be fluent in French and working knowledge of English. These positions will be based in Yaoundé or Bertoua.
SHAC Office Positions
Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Mentor, SAFE CARE Project -Cameroon
Reports to: Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist
Location of work: Yaoundé or Bertoua, Cameroon

Position Overview:
This position provides onsite overall M&E support by ensuring the completion of key records and registers as well as implementation of quality improvement and monitoring and evaluation activities at the assigned facilities. Assignments are specific and work is reviewed upon completion by the Strategic Information Specialist.
Essential Functions
Monitoring and evaluation
Oversee the overall management o data-related activities in assigned facilities working in conjunction with the facility Data Clerks, majors and other facility-level staff involved in data managementSupervise data collection activities in assigned facilities;
Assists in establishing and maintaining an effective and efficient records management system
Flags gaps in patient documentation (files and registers) with facility Data Clerk in assigned facilities
Supports Facility Data clerks to provide feedback to service providers; resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data
o Compiles, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data to be reported in assigned facilitieso Analyze data regularly (weekly, Monthly, quarterly) to inform the ART clinic team and the hospital and flag both programmatic and targets related gaps in assigned facilitieso Maintain the flagging system in assigned facilities ensuring that they are up to date daily for the assigned health facilitieso In collaboration with the ART clinic Major in assigned facilities, ensures availability of all documentation tools at the site.o Completes alongside facility data clerk, data from registers and patient records into DAMA & EMR in assigned facilities
Ensure all data entry done by facility Data Clerks meet the required template (DAMA or EMR) for alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer based on the format displayed on screen and enters necessary codes.
Ensures that the assigned facili ties hold weekly data review meetings to analyze performance, identify and resolve all data-related issuesMentor and support data clerks to generate timely and complete reports, daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly that capture 100% of services provided during the reporting period to achieve site goals and set targets.Conduct Periodic data quality checks.Routinely triangulate data captured in registers, patient file and EMR/DAMA for accuracy and consistency (daily, weekly, Monthly)Review and make corrections where requiredParticipate in data validation GU/MOHSupports facility data clerk to review monthly RTG report with source document before submissionsEnsure GU/RTG Monthly performance indicators are consistent.Participate in all DQA exerciseEnsure that hard and soft copies of data collected are easily accessible and stored properly at sites.
Quality Improvement
Support the site to identify and maintain a quality improvement teamSupport the site in the implementation of quality improvement projects to improve patient outcomes.
Cash advance and Management
In conjunction with the clinical Mentor, determine the amount of cash needed for routine facility activities ad request for the funds.Work with the major to follow up on expenses and justification of cash advance receivedWork with the major of the CTA/UPEC to reconcile advance received every month

Qualifications and Experience
First degree in any of the sciences or social sciencesBe able to move around 2-5 FacilitiesGood Knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, excel, access, PowerPoint)Accuracy and Speed in Data EntryA good Knowledge of data analysis and useExperience in data entry projects is an added advantage (i.e DAMA or any other EMR)Be willing to learn and be able to take initiativeBe able to meet timelines effectivelyCommunicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.Carry out multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Follow instructions furnished in verbal or written format.Must be fluent in French and Working knowledge of English
