For the first time since 2007, Ghana is rolling out a nationwide training to give a enhance to the leadership and technical abilities of mid-level and operational level immunization officers. With funding from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and technical give a enhance to from the World Well being Organization (WHO) and companions, the Ghana Well being Carrier (GHS) has developed and adopted updated training materials for the Mid-Stage Management (MLM) and Immunization in Alter to (IIP) modules, two globally known modules for building capacity of immunization officers.

As Ghana continues to introduce easy vaccines, shut fairness gaps, and reply to evolving public properly being desires, equipping immunization crew with standardized information, real looking abilities, and leadership competencies is extra severe than ever. This training is a properly timed response to give a enhance to capacity at nationwide, regional, and district ranges and make certain constant, fine quality supply of immunization products and services during the nation.

These modules, tailored from WHO world standards, are designed to handle gaps in immunization provider management and introduce real looking innovations and simplest practices at all ranges of Ghana’s properly being device.

To kick off the nationwide rollout, GHS convened a five-day facilitators’ training workshop from 30 June to 4 July 2025. The workshop introduced together facilitators drawn from the GHS, WHO, partner organizations and independent experts. These facilitators will, in flip, give a enhance to regional and district-level trainings in the coming weeks, ensuring that the information and abilities cascade effectively to the frontlines of immunization supply.
