Prequel novels about Louis debuted in December 2023
Azu Azuko launched a manga adaptation of creator Matsuri Isora and artist Nanna Fujimi‘s Mute Witch -another- Kekkai no Majutsushi no Nariagari (Rise of the Barrier Mage, in total identified as Secrets of the Mute Witch -another-), a prequel to their Mute Witch (Mute Witch Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto) light new sequence, on Kadokawa‘s Comic Walker on Thursday.
Yen Press licensed the prequel novels, and it describes the legend:

Isora and Fujimi debuted the prequel in December 2023, and the 2nd and final volume shipped in Japan on April 10.
