WHO delivers essential medical supplies to combat substance abuse in Liberia

The World Health Organization (WHO) has taken a big step towards addressing the growing topic of substance abuse in Liberia by donating essential medical supplies to the Ministry of Health (MOH). This timely intervention, supported by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund, will empower healthcare suppliers to effectively contend with and rehabilitate at-likelihood early life suffering from substance-train disorders (SUDs).

A Nationwide Scrutinize performed by MOH in 2021 shows that essential remedy companies and essential medicines broken-down for detoxification, withdrawal administration and administration of opioid overdose weren’t readily accessible at the 81 companies that had been offering companies for Individuals with Substance Use Concerns (PSUDs). These sources will be distributed to healthcare companies in Montserrado and Immense Bassa, ensuring that extra at-likelihood early life obtain the help they need.
