The Uganda Earnings Authority (URA) has intercepted a hid pistol in a passenger’s baggage at Entebbe International Airport, underscoring the company’s reinforced security protocols on the nation’s entry points.

The firearm turned into once detected by the Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) arrangement during routine screening.

“During routine customs screening, X-ray analysis revealed two bags containing an air pistol (Blow P29) and 50 rounds of ammunition,” Twesigye acknowledged.

The passenger, who lacked the famous documentation for possessing a firearm, turned into once instantly handed over to aviation police for extra investigation.

The identity of the passenger turned into once now not released to the media.

Twesigye reiterated that firearms, ammunition, and military tools are strictly regulated in Uganda and need to obtain prior clearance from Uganda Police ahead of importation.

This interception follows an earlier incident earlier this twelve months when URA’s NII expertise detected ammunition on two individuals attempting to rotten into Uganda from South Sudan on the Elegu border submit.
