US-based solar developer-operator Emeren Group Ltd (NYSE:SOL) has sold a 57-MWp solar project portfolio in France to a local unit of Chinese solar equipment maker Trina Solar Co Ltd (SHA:688599).
The portfolio includes five projects — one early-stage and one late-stage, which were sold during the third quarter, along with three mid-stage projects to be monetised in milestones and sold to Trina, Emeren said in a press statement on Monday.
All solar sites are suitable for the accommodation of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity.
“Despite the complexities of the permitting process in France, our team successfully delivered a high-value portfolio that aligns with market demands. This sale highlights the strength of our development efforts and reinforces our commitment to advancing renewable energy in Europe,” said Emeren’s CEO Yumin Liu.
The portfolio was acquired by Trina Solar (France) Systems, the French subsidiary of Trina Solar’s downstream project development arm Trina Solar International System Business Unit (ISBU).
