The Ugandan Ministry of Health has today received brand new Data Know-how (IT) Equipment value USD 222,594 (same to UGX 865,029,221) to support the Ministry of Health (MoH) in the continuing digitization of health service birth and the scale-up of Electronic Scientific Records (EMR) machine across all public health amenities.

The IT equipment, comprising 95 laptops and 130 scanners, used to be donated by the Federal Republic of Germany, thru World Health Organization (WHO), as share of their partnership to beef up universal health protection. The equipment would perhaps be channeled to the National Referral Scientific institution, chosen Regional Referrals, and Customary hospitals.

The Ministry of Health is digitizing health service birth in accordance with the Health Data and Digital Health Strategic Opinion 2020/21-2024/25 as aligned with the Health Ministry’s Strategic Opinion 2020/21. This used to be in response to the National Pattern Opinion (NDP) III and following a Presidential Directive to leverage files technology as a automobile for bettering scientific offers accountability, the standard of health care as effectively as continuity of care in response to a transferable scientific narrative.

All the strategy thru the handover ceremony, Dr. Diana Atwine, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, welcomed the support of WHO and Germany, which is in a space to contribute to bettering electronic scientific files in health amenities.

 “Ministry of Health is rolling out a entire Electronic Scientific File machine in a phased capacity to all health amenities across the nation starting with National Referral hospitals down to high volume Health centre IIIs. We nonetheless mute require tons of investment in computers, as effectively as networking equipment to facilitate deployment and scale of the machine in these health amenities,” Dr. Atwine talked about.

Echoing the identical appreciation, Dr. Christine Chakanyuka Musanhu, Officer In Fee – WHO Uganda Country Place of job, talked about that “Scaling up Electronic Scientific Records is an set apart WHO and its partners fancy the Federal Republic of Germany are gratified to support. Hans von Schroeder, German Deputy Ambassador to Uganda, reiterated his authorities’s commitment to supporting the folks of Uganda, noting, “We imagine that by supporting the digitization of scientific files, we are playing a share in ensuring effectively timed access to healthcare by all who need it.”
