Position: Transportation and Logistics Assistant, SAFE CARE Project -Cameroon
Reports to: Logistics Officer
Location of work: Yaoundé, Cameroon

Position Overview: The Transportation and Logistics Assistant’s role is to assist the organization with all transport-related duties. S/He responsibilities would include dropping and picking up staff, collecting various packages, and maintaining a travel log to record work hours, travel time and locations traveled to in addition to performing the necessary routine checks on the vehicle to ensure optimal running condition and all transportation duties are carried out on time
Essential Functions
Safely transporting staff as well as various products and materials to and from specified locations promptly.Assisting with the loading and offloading of products and materials.Adjusting travel routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction.Promptly informing the company of any tickets issued against the company vehicle during work hours.Ensuring that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking to avoid towing.Keeping the company vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning and vehicle maintenance.Providing accurate time records of the company vehicle’s coming and goings.Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to managementQualifications and Experience
A minimum of a High school diplomaValid driver’s license Cat ‘C’.Sound knowledge of road safety regulations and working knowledge of local roads and routes.The ability to utilize maps, GPS systems, and car manuals.Effective communication skills.Clean driving record.Must be punctual and reliableAbility to communicate in French fluently.Ability to communicate in English will be an added advantage but not mandatoryComputer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages.Professional fluency in oral and written English and French.Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.Work Environment
