Main objective and tasks
The social worker provides psychosocial support for survivors of protection cases (including GBV and child protection).Tasks :
Conduct intake interviews with individuals identified by the team during outreach work or referred by other agencies, and open a case if vulnerability criteria are metCarry out comprehensive assessments for each client after receiving their consent and consider emotional, behavioral and social factors that affect their psychosocial well-being as well as protection and risk factorsRefer clients to appropriate services and when necessary accompany them to different service providersEnsure proper and safe filing and archiving of case management files to maintain data confidentialityCarry out all tasks respecting key protection principles, including but not limited to do no harm, non-discrimination, confidentiality, accountability and need-to-know principlesMapping service providers in the intervention area;Ensure good coordination with the other protection actors working in the intervention area;Liaise with the health centers to ensure proper medical care for survivors, including availability and management of Post-rape kits;Identify proactively the challenges related to psychosocial support, proposing solutions to realize the objectives and activities of the project;Conduct awareness-raising activities on available services, and participate in community mobilization and the development of key messages to bedisseminated;Keep the tools up to date and produce high-quality and precise activity reports;To Organize Focus Group’s whit the beneficiaries to identify the problems related to protecting vulnerable people with specific needsFollow the guidelines [respect, confidentiality, non-discrimination, security], and treat survivors with respect and compassion by keeping confidentiality;Actively participate in scheduled weekly meetings by the field coordinator and the project management;Work closely and effectively with the Protection Monitors in the field;Be flexible and ready to accept any other tasks asked by INTERSOS related to the achievement of the project’s objectives from the organization.Educational and professional experience required
University degree in a related field e.g. Social Work, Psychology or equivalent is an assetTraining in humanitarian protection thematics such as community-based protection, survival centered-case management, PSEA, GBV and Child protection will be an asset.Technical and behavioral competencies required
Work Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a humanitarian context, in an association, NGO or INGO, with at least 1 year of fieldwork experience in the NW or SW regions during the context of crisisProven work experience in social work in a similar contextExperience working and / or collaborating on a UNCHR project would be an assetLeadership, people management and development, teamwork and cooperationRespect and non-discriminatory attitude, empathy Team management experience of at least 1 year at a similar level would be an asset.IT: Advanced Knowledge of
