Summary
Nascent is seeking dedicated and trusted professionals to support the US Department of Agriculture-funded International Food for Education and Child Nutrition program. The Warehouse Officer will be responsible for the overall management of the commodities at the warehouse, as well as taking stock and tracking the movement of all commodities into and out of the warehouse. S/he will manage all activities within the warehouse and report accordingly.

Duties and Responsibilities
The warehouse manager is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing commodities. S/he will oversee the warehouse’s management, maintenance, supervision, and record-keeping based on Nascent Solutions and USDA rules and procedures. S/he will inform the supervisors of the general status of the USDA and LRP Commodities and make recommendations for improvements where necessary.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee the delivery, receipt, proper handling, storage, and dispatch of all commodities and materials to the schools.Ensure that the warehouse and the surroundings are thoroughly cleaned and fumigated before the arrival of commoditiesVerify the quantities and weight of commodities released from the transportation companies into the warehouse.Observe the FIFO (first in, first out) rule to ensure that the commodities received first are dispatched first.Instruct laborers on proper stacking and storage procedures of all commodities by packing in such a manner as to facilitate counting and inventory taking.Keep the warehouse commodity ledger up to date, recording all transactions daily according to classification, PL#, and commodity type.Immediately report to the Commodity and Logistics Specialist upon discovering damaged commodities, pilferage, weevil detection, or rat infestation for necessary action.Participated in preparing and finalizing Commodity movement forms, including waybills, Inventory Reports, and Loss Reports.Perform daily warehouse inventory and inspections with the commodity and logistics officer and participate in the monthly physical inventory.Prepare and submit a monthly status report on warehouse activities, including receipts and dispatches, and recommend improvements where necessary.Properly register any movement of commodities in the stock cards and the ledgers without cancellations.Supervise the exact loading of the commodities from the warehouse to the schools and have all parties sign the appropriate documents.Maintain a sound filing system for the documents in the warehouseAssist the Commodity and Logistics Specialist in drafting monthly and quarterly reportsPerform other duties as designated by project management Qualifications required
A bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in any of the social sciences: Economics, Management, or Statistics.At least three (3) years’ experience in warehouse management.Experience in US Government Food Warehouse Management (regulation 1499 and 1599) is preferred. Personal Skills
