This humanitarian crisis reinforces gender inequalities (men/women; boys/girls), with negative impacts such as: violence, rape, limited access to resources, restricted movement, etc.
IRC’s 2020 commitment to gender aims to reduce disparities in its programs and operations. Programming will seek to put in place programs that overcome the barriers women and girls face to leading good lives in health, education, security, power and the economy. This involves all programs in all sectors that seek to reduce gender disparities by positively changing harmful norms and inequalities.
